It doesn’t seem five minutes ago since I wrote and posted my Goodbye July post.
For us in August we saw lots of rain! We’ve had the odd bit of good weather but we have certainly had a lot more wet and rainy days. What has happened to the sunny summer?
Looking back over the month and looking at the photos I have taken we have still managed to do a fair bit.
Back at the beginning we enjoyed a family fun day at a local leisure centre – the highlight for C was seeing his first fire engine up close and personal – he was able to sit inside and try out some of the equipment and afterwards he got to use the fire hose! The sun was beautiful so we were able to sit and enjoy a picnic.
Here are a few more highlights for us this month.
We’ve been crab fishing , enjoyed walks with the dog to feed the ducks, we’ve had fun down the beach, especially the weekend of the Bournemouth Air Festival. We hired out paddle boats at Poole Park, I picked my first home grown tomato, we went for a beautiful walk round Hengistbury Head, I celebrated my Birthday with a day out to the New Forest, I had Afternoon Tea with my sister as part of my Birthday present from her … child free! We attended the Blue Light Fire Safety Event which was very educational on such an important topic, and we had a lovely family walk at Moors Valley.
Phew reading that back we’ve done quite a bit. Looking ahead to September we have L going back to school into year 8 and it is also C’s 3rd Birthday. I can’t believe he’s going to be 3!
