We recently visited London for the weekend and we chose to stay at the Premier Inn, Heathrow Airport, Bath Road. We have stayed here before and were very happy with our stay so we re-booked to stay there again.
I booked our reservation online on the main Premier Inn website. Booking our room was nice and easy and their website was easy to navigate.
Check in on arrival was very quick and simple. We were welcomed by a very friendly staff member and we were asked how we made our reservation and because we had booked online we could use the self-service check-in machines.
The self-check in was very quick and easy to use and it issued us two room key cards.
We were using the Premier Inn car-park for the duration of our stay and for this particular hotel they require a fee per 24hrs. We went over to the reception desk to do this and the receptionist explained that the hotel raises money for Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital and that the money for the car-parking would be donated to the hospital instead and Caiden would get a teddy bear. Obviously, we chose that option, gave over our car details so we could park in the car-park for 24 hours. Caiden and Lauren were then given an activity pack each. You can imagine the look in the 15-year-olds face when she got one as well, but it was a nice extra touch and Lauren didn’t say no to the sweets!
We were directed to our family room which was situated on the ground floor and everywhere was well signposted so we found it with no worries.
We had a kingsized bed and two single beds in our family room and there was still plenty of room. We had tea & coffee making facilities, TV, plenty of towels, hairdryer, extra bedding, and pillows if we needed them, lots of storage and a desk and chair. The ensuite had a bath with a shower.
This Premier Inn is basically on the doorstep of Heathrow Airport so they included a little pack of earplugs in case the aircraft noise disturbed us. I have to say though we didn’t hear a thing because the windows were so well insulated. Premier Inn do guarantee a good nights sleep after all!
We decided to eat at the hotel that evening in the hotel’s restaurant called ‘Thyme’. We had already added and paid for the breakfast to our booking when I made the reservation but upon checking in we were made aware of the upgrade to add on the evening meal if we wanted to, allowing us two courses and a drink for a saving. Children under 16 eat breakfast for free so we just upgraded the two adults meal packages.
The service in the restaurant was impeccable – the front of house team were very courteous and helpful. They couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly.
The restaurant had a lovely feel to it, it was warm and inviting and the food was very impressive and tasty.
With full bellies we headed back to the hotel room, it was fairly late by this point and we had a long day planned for the next day. So after a bit of unwind time using the complimentary Wifi, we hit the hay (as they say).
I’ve stayed in Premier Inn hotels for years now and I can honestly say I have the best nights sleep when I stay in them. Their beds are just made of amazing, they’re so comfortable and the pillows are just perfect. I’ve been known to take my own pillow away with me normally, but I never have to worry about that when staying at a Premier Inn.
Breakfast is served in the Thyme restaurant and it’s unlimited food with unlimited hot and cold drinks. As I said previously children under 16 eat breakfast free! You can choose from a range of cereals, fruit, toast, yogurts, toast, pancakes, bakery items .. the list goes on. I love the Premier Inn breakfast – they really do set you up for the day.
Check out was very easy – all we had to do was pop our room keys in a box in reception. Our stay at Premier Inn on the Bath Road was faultless, we’ve stayed there before and we would definitely choose to stay with them again and any Premier Inn for that matter. They will always be my first choice if we need to stay away from home. We always find them clean and tidy, they have comfortable beds, friendly staff and plenty of amenities. This hotel even had a Costa Coffe cafe on site. Perfect for taking back to your room or as a takeaway for your onward journey.
