For the Mummy Tag, I’ve been tagged by Laura over at Dear Bear and Beany – Thanks Laura 🙂

Are you a stay at home mum or a working mum?

I’m a stay at home mum during the day but I go out to work 3 nights a week between 8 & midnight. I love it tbh. It gives me the chance to stay home all day to look after the children & go on days out, do dinner & get C ready for bed before I head off to work.

Would you have it any other way?

No, I really wouldn’t. I was a stay at hone mum for 12 years. I only went back to work last November and I really do enjoy it. I work with a great bunch of people and I love getting out of the house for a few hours and for having the chance to chat to others.

Do you co-sleep?

No, it’s something we’ve never done with either of them. I have nothing against it and I actually think it’s really lovely but we just never managed to make it work or get comfy. I think the night after C was born we co-slept in the hospital and I really loved having him so close as we dosed in and out of sleep. But other than that both of them were in moses baskets and then cots.

What is your one must-have item for your baby?

I think hands down the best item we ever had for C was the Jumperoo …. he absolutely loved it and it allowed us to have those 10 or so minutes a day to get things done in the kitchen whilst he was happily bouncing away. With L I think it would have to have been her play gym/piano. I still have it actually and C enjoyed it as a baby & now my nephew does when he coms round. It started off as a play gym going over her on her play mat but as she progressed it turned into a piano she could sit at and eventually stand at so it lasted for ages.

Reading that back though, they’re more like “baby’s favourite items’ So my must have will have to be the baby monitor. It was invaluable for us when both were tiny … especially when he had some real concerns after C choked one night on his vomit and we had to call an ambulance!

How many kids do you plan on having?

Just the two … we don’t plan on having anymore. We feel our family is now complete 🙂

Date nights? How often do you have them?

Hmmmm not very often tbh. It’s something I really want to try and do at least once a month. Life just gets a bit busy trying to fit in family, work, friends …… Only having 4 nights off in a week something always seems to happening on a few of them. We do need to try and make time though.

Your child’s favourite show?

Hands down it had to be Fireman Sam … C has been a fan of him since last Summer. He also likes to watch Peppa Pig & Caillou.

L being a teenager now she likes to watch vlogs on Youtube mainly.

Name one thing you bought before you had the baby and never ended up using?

The bottle warmer … complete waste of money, I think we used it once haha.

Your child’s favourite food?

C is a bit of a breakfast monster – he’ll quite happily have two bowls of cereal and toast most mornings! He’s a huge lover of fruit and he really likes pasta too.

L loves pasta, pizza & a good old roast dinner!

How many cars does your family have?

One car, one van (Mr S’s for work)

Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now?

I honestly couldn’t tell you! I never weighed myself pre-pregnancy with either of them & I don’t think I stepped on the scales throughout my pregnancy either. It’s just something that never bothered me.

Dream holiday with your kids?

Hands down without a doubt …. Disney World in Orlando, Florida. We are huge Disney fans and i’ve been a few times now. We took L when she was 8 and we had a wonderful time. I can’t wait until we can go back and take C to what I think is the best holiday & place you can visit. It’s just magical whatever your age.

Dream holiday without your kids?

It would still be Florida …. I don’t think i’ll ever get bored of going. There’s so much to see and experience.

How has your life changed since having kids?

It’s changed completely. My entire life is different to how it was pre-children.

Finish the sentence “It makes my heart melt when…”

…. I go into kiss them both at night before I go to bed. Watching them sleeping, all peaceful, hopefully having lovely dreams about their day makes my heart swell.

Where do you shop for your kids?

H&M, TU (Sainsburys), George (Asda), Primark (got to love a bit of Primark), Mothercare, Next, Gap ….

Favourite make-up and skincare products?

Without a doubt the two main staples in my make-up bag is the ‘Rimmel Perfect Match’ Foundation & my ‘Lasting Perfection’ Concealer from Collection. I mix and match the rest of my make-up all the time.

Huggies or Pampers?

Neither – both of them leaked with C – the only ones we found that worked for him were the Boots ‘Super Dry’ nappies. I think I used Pampers when L was a baby though.

Have you always wanted kids?

Yes, without a doubt, I always wanted to be a Mum. From as early as I can remember. I feel so very lucky i’ve been able to experience pregnancy, labour & parenthood.

Best part of being a mum?

That I am most probably their number one & (hopefully) always will be & for being the one to give them the experiences in life they enjoy.

I hope i’ve not bored you too much 😉
