Wow what a fab weekend! It’s been full on as usual but we’ve had a brilliant one. The weather has been a.m.a.z.i.n.g too.

We had a child free day!!!!! That hasn’t happened in about two years. C went to spend the day with my sister & nephew & L has her friend over from Ireland to stay with us so we all drove to West Quay in Southampton – the girls went off on their own for a few hours and we did the same!! It was so lovely to be able to have lunch just the two if us and have a nice stroll round the shops and IKEA.
West Quay have dedicated the entire third floor to food places & restaurants so we had an abundance to choose from. We decided to try something different, go somewhere we’ve never eaten before … Wagamama. I looked at the menu before we went in and I have to admit I was a bit dubious, I wasn’t sure I was going to find something I would actually like. But we decided to throw caution to the wind and be different. We were really chuffed we did because it was absolutely gorgeous, both of us chose something different so we could have a taste of each others and I have to say we loved both. It’s definitely somewhere we would like to visit again and I thought the prices were pretty reasonable too.
After lunch we had a (long ) wander round IKEA and walked back to West Quay to exchange a pair of shoes before meeting up with the girls again.
It really was so nice to have some couple time. I adore spending time as a family but I do also think it’s important to have time just the two of you every now and again.

We woke up to sunny bless skies again Woohoo! So it was a definite day for the beach.
We popped out first thing for some picnic supplies and also had a quick wander around a local car-boot sale (which to be honest was a bit of a waste of time).
Once home we packed up the car with the picnic, body boards, buckets and spades … and of course the sun-cream and off we went. We didn’t get there until about half past two which was a pretty good time – the sun was still hot but the beach was pretty quiet, presumably people headed down there earlier in the day.
We spent a good 3 or so hours there and the whole time the girls were in the sea and C was happily paddling and playing on the sand with his diggers.
I had a bit of time to sit and soak up the sun whilst reading a few pages in my book.
We didn’t leave the beach under after 6 O’Clock so we decided to head home for showers and then go out for dinner to a local Harvester seeing as it was L’s friends last night with us.
