The sun finally shone in all it’s glory this weekend so we made sure we made the most of it. It sure feels like Winter has been here for too long!
We kicked the weekend off by going to the Christchurch Food & Wine Festival. It’s an annual event and we were really looking forward to soaking up the atmosphere and smelling the wonderful smells from all sorts of yummy food.
It was so hard not to just buy a little something from each stall we passed.
We walked down to the Quay where they had some children’s entertainment and a live band (who were really good) and we sat and ate pizza admiring the view and enjoying the sun (we won’t mention I had already tried some Chinese from a stall in the high street beforehand!)
We then spent the afternoon in the garden, I read a book for the first time in years and we had dinner in the garden … again our first dinner of the year in the garden!
Sunday was even warmer and sunnier than Saturday so we made a picnic and packed up the car and headed off to the beach. We’re SO lucky living so close to the sea, we used to take it for granted until we moved away. Now we’re back we make the most of it as much as we can. Both L & C love it there.
We then finished off the weekend with our first BBQ of the year.
So all in all we had a pretty perfect weekend.
