Bateaux Cruises & Afternoon Tea
Afternoon Tea cruising the Thames with Bateaux Cruises has to be one of my favourite things I have done in London so far.
I booked our afternoon tea on the Thames with Bateaux Cruises. After a little research I liked the look of their website, their video showed how lovely the boat was and I liked the look of their menu as well. Booking was simple and easy to do all via their website.
On the day of our trip, we made our way to Embankment Pier to check in and to board our boat – the Harmony. A Scandinavian designed boat with big windows for the perfect view and an outdoor rooftop observation terrace.
We boarded the boat and were shown to our table. I had paid extra to guarantee we would have a window seat. We were shown to our table
Our menu was on the table, we did have the option to let them know at the time of our booking if we had any dietary requirements. We had the option of tea or coffee and we also had a glass of champagne each. There were plenty of sandwiches, cakes, and scones for both of us.
The cruise lasted an hour and during that time we travelled up one side of the Thames river and back down the other. The views were spectacular. We passed Big Ben, Houses of Parliment, The London Eye, London Bridge Hospital, the Tower of London, ITV studios and the Southbank, the Shard, and we sailed under Tower Bridge. It was a great day weather wise too so we got some great photos.
There was a live pianist playing for the duration of the cruise and it really made such a nice touch. Delicate music in the background was really nice.
The staff were attentive and checked in every so often to see if everything was ok and it was no problem either to ask for extra tea/coffee/milk.
Cruising on the Thames with afternoon tea was something different to do and it is something I would definitely like to do again.
